Website localization

The difference between mere translation and localization is that the latter goes beyond simply a translation of the text; it involves adapting the products and the way of communicating to a specific local market to fitthe cultural context of the target audience, an objective that is achieved by taking into account factors such as the style, design or images, among other things.

Website translation methodology

At NAKOM, we have developed a process that fulfils the requirements for successful website localization: it guarantees high accuracy, a tailored approach and fast delivery times at a competitive price.

Initial analysis:

Before presenting the service proposal, NAKOM analyses the original website and the target market to ensure the company’s positioning strategy is correctly focused and to propose adaptations to the content, where necessary, while studying the technical aspects in order to avoid possible problems when inserting the translations on the website.

Adaptation to the needs of the customer:

  • Full or partial translation:
While the localization of a website is important to reach a wider audience, it is not always necessary to translate it in its entirety. Therefore, NAKOM offers the option of translating the most relevant sections for the target market without losing sight of the budget. In most cases, we recommend adapting the entire website. However, you can decide which sections or pages you need to translate to advertise your products and services internationally.
  • Translation of content focused on positioning:
In addition to visible website content, such as articles or product pages, we can take care of translating meta tags and image descriptions. The correct translation of a website’s SEO content is essential to ensure the highest possible visibility on Google and other search engines, which translates into more traffic and greater engagement with customers.
  • Quality and delivery times:
NAKOM offers 3 types of services adapted to the needs of each customer and project in terms of budget, quality and delivery times.

Technology:

Thanks to our tools we can create databases with the content translated into one or several languages, as well as glossaries that provide consistency in our customers’ branded content in terms of style, tone, terminology, etc. They also help to speed up the translation process and reduce the cost of updates.

Expert professionals:

Key to the process is having a translator who, in addition to being a native speaker, a specialist in the subject matter of the website and with a detailed knowledge of the local culture, can ensure that the message you want to convey is perfectly understood. This is not only necessary from a terminological or translation point of view, but also from a cultural, linguistic and target audience perspective.

Website translation process

Before starting the project, NAKOM analyses the details of the website: technical characteristics, target audience, frequency of updates, etc. Based on this information, we offer several options for website translation according to the needs and budget of our customers:

1. Translation of content in editable format

We translate website content into any editable text format (such as Word or Excel). If required, we can also localize all multimedia content on the website (images, graphics, PDFs, downloadables, etc.) during the translation process.

Although working with editable formats is preferable and more affordable, it requires the subsequent task of re-inserting the content, so we propose two other alternatives as described below.

2. Translation of files exported from the website

Thanks to the use of our technology we can translate the source code of the website in various formats (HTML, PHP, XML…) respecting the integrity of the tags. This solution is designed for projects that require fast processing, as there is no need for the texts to be manually re-inserted into the source files once the translation has been completed.

3. Translation within a CMS

If the website is managed by a CMS (WordPress, Magento, Drupal, etc.), NAKOM offers the option of translating the exported files in the desired format or inserting the translations into the system being used. Once the translation has been inserted into the website, we can review the content and make the necessary modifications.

Each website is designed to cover a series of needs. The translation has to fulfil the same objective. Contact us and together we can find the best solution for the localization of your website.

Text revision. Any translation process involves text revision by native speakers who are specialists in the subject matter translated.
